Stage 02 · ASO and keywords

App Store keyword research and ASO inside your coding agent

Ask Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI or Cursor for keywords and it answers with live App Store data, writes the listing for every store language you pick and checks it against Apple's limits and the keyword rules before the metadata stage can close.

The job it replaces

Hours of busywork, gone

Doing it by hand

  • Exporting keyword lists from one tool and pasting them into another
  • Counting characters in the name, subtitle and keyword fields by hand
  • Repeating a word in the title and the keywords without noticing
  • Writing and checking the listing again for every language

With AppFactory

  • Keyword ideas from App Store autocomplete, per storefront
  • Competitors and their ratings for every term, and the price ladder of any competitor
  • Metadata written for every store locale you pick
  • A checker that blocks wasted, duplicated or risky keywords

What the agent does

Step by step

  1. Find what people type

It reads App Store autocomplete for a seed term in any of 11 storefronts, and can widen the seed to bring up the long tail people really search.

  2. Size up each term

For every keyword it lists the apps the store search returns, with their ratings and prices, scores the niche and shows the top grossing apps of the category.

  3. Write the listing

The mandatory ASO stage opens with a metadata template, one section per store language. The agent fills the name, subtitle, keywords, promotional text and description of each store locale from the research.

  4. Check every field

Apple's limits are enforced (30, 30, 100, 170 and 4,000 characters), and so are the rules that waste ranking: the keyword field must be close to full, no word may repeat across name, subtitle and keywords, no spaces around commas, no filler words, no language names and none of the competitor names you list (guideline 2.3.7). The metadata stage cannot close until the listing passes.

  5. Close the stage

The ASO stage is marked done only after its metadata passes the limits check, and only then does the delivery gate open. Until then the upload is refused.

  6. Target each search theme

One Custom Product Page per keyword theme, with the deep links ready for your Apple Ads groups.

  7. Upload

The listing is written into the App Store Connect draft version.

A fair comparison

ASO tools sell this alone. AppFactory includes it.

Standalone ASO tools usually charge a subscription for keyword research. In AppFactory the ASO tools are one stage of the pipeline that also builds, tests and ships the app, for one payment.
