Stage 01 · Idea research

Know if an app idea can win before you build it

Your agent sweeps the App Store charts, scores each niche with live data and checks that the name is free. You pick from a shortlist with evidence behind it, not a hunch. This stage needs no accounts at all.

The job it replaces

Hours of busywork, gone

Doing it by hand

  • Scrolling the charts and guessing what sells
  • Typing searches to see if anyone looks for the idea
  • Opening competitor pages one by one to find their prices
  • Learning the name is taken after the app is built

With AppFactory

  • A sweep of the top grossing and top free charts of every charted category
  • A 0 to 100 niche score with a GO, MAYBE, WEAK or REJECT verdict
  • Competitor price ladders and a margin check before you set prices
  • A free name, checked against the store before anything is created

What the agent does

Step by step

  1. Sweep the charts

It reads the top grossing and top free charts of all 24 App Store categories that have a chart, in seven storefronts by default (US, UK, Germany, Brazil, Turkey, Japan and France), and returns chart proven apps, rising newcomers and open niches per category. It can also list the top grossing apps of one storefront and category.

  2. Measure real demand

App Store autocomplete shows what people actually type. A term with zero suggestions is rejected on the spot: no demand, no build.

  3. Score the niche

It pulls the competitors for the term with their ratings and update dates, then weighs search demand, how weak and how stale those competitors are and how many ratings the biggest one has. Entrenched competitors cost points, a saturated niche is rejected outright, and so is one where recent newcomers never gained traction.

  4. Build the evidence

For each shortlisted idea: autocomplete, the niche verdict, newcomer traction, the leaders and their price ladders, whether the app needs AI, how hard it is to build and how risky it is in App Review.

  5. Check the money

It reads a competitor's subscription price ladder from its product page, then turns your prices, credits and AI cost into margins and a break even point, at the 15% Small Business rate or the standard 30%.

  6. Pick a free name

Your name candidates are searched on the store in order, and the first one with no exact match among the results comes back, before the app record is created.

What you get

At the end of this stage

  • A top five shortlist with the evidence behind every idea
  • A niche score and verdict per idea
  • Competitor prices next to your projected margin
  • An available app name

Nothing to approve here

  • This stage only reads public App Store data, so it runs without any account or key.
  • You choose the idea and the name. The agent presents the evidence; it never decides for you.
